Kessler, retired Professor of Forestry from Clemson University
specialized in Christmas Tree Production, Silviculture, Private
Landowners Education, Youth Education, and Continuing Education.
Dr. Kessler had received a number of
awards which include: SCAE4-H Natural Resources Education Award (1997),
Christmas Tree Grower of the year, South Carolina Christmas Tree
Association (1999), Clemson University Board of Trustees Award for Faculty
Excellence (2001, 2003, 2005, 2009); Outstanding Achievements in
Sustainable Forestry, American Forest Foundation (2001) and The Society of
American Foresters Technology Transfer and Extension Award (2002). Dr,
Kessler has held offices in many professional organizations. He is
currently Vice Chair of the SC Tree Farm Committee and a member of the
Landowner Engagement Strategies Task Force for the American Forest
Foundation. He is a registered forester and a certified Tree Farmer.
He is currently a Director of the SC Tree Farm
Association, Chair of the SC Tree Farm Membership Committee and a Board
Member of the South Carolina Forestry Commission.
